Eric Gomez is a research fellow with TSM, where he contributes monthly updates to a database on the US arms sale backlog to Taiwan. Since February 2025, he has been a Horizon Institute for Public Service Congressional Fellow. Before joining TSM, he worked in a variety of research and analysis roles at the Cato Institute from 2015 to January 2025, where he wrote extensively on a variety of East Asia security topics, including US-China nuclear stability, missile defense, and US conventional force posture and strategy. Eric earned a Master’s degree from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor’s from SUNY Geneseo.
