Alexa Young is a Ph.D. student in Psychology with a concentration in Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience at George Mason University, where she also earned her B.S. and M.A. in Psychology. Her current research focuses on economic decision-making, while her previous research experience examined Alzheimer’s disease and traumatic brain injury in mouse models. She was also a fellow with the NSF National Research Traineeship, where she contributed to a community health technology project. In addition, she is a researcher with the Taiwan Security Monitor, applying quantitative and computational methods to analyze trends in Chinese state media and regional security discourse. In her free time, she enjoys running, cycling, swimming, and hiking.
