TAO spokesperson Zhang Han responded that Lai Ching-te is accustomed to confusing right and wrong and turning black into white. The facts are that Lai Ching-te stubbornly adheres to a “Taiwan independence” separatist stance and refuses to acknowledge the “1992 Consensus,” seriously challenging the one-China principle; he seeks “independence by relying on external forces” and “independence by force,” continuously escalating tensions in the Taiwan Strait; he disregards the mainstream public opinion in Taiwan that wants peace, development, exchange, and cooperation, and keeps manipulating “anti-China” sentiment; and he goes even further in creating “green authoritarianism,” implementing “Taiwan independence autocracy,” and deliberately obstructing and undermining cross-Strait exchanges and cooperation. The facts have repeatedly proven that Lai Ching-te is nothing less than a “destroyer of peace,” a “maker of crises,” and an “instigator of war.”
